About me

I'm Amila Ereeshika, a postgraduate student at the University of Moratuwa. Currently, I'm more focused on expanding my knowledge and expertise in the software architecture field. I love to develop interactive websites and web applications with technologies like, HTML, CSS (Bootstrap, Material, Semantic), JavaScript (React,Node,Express,TypeScript), PHP (Especially with Laravel) and WordPress. I've also worked with both databases technologies, SQL (MySQL) and NoSQL (Firebase, MongoDB).

Apart from the above technologies I've got my hands dirty with, Standalone application development (Java), Server Management (Shared, Cloud) and bit of Networking.

Also, I was an experienced Community Lead with a demonstrated history of working with multiple communities and organizations like Mozilla Foundation, Free and Open Source Software Community (Sri Lanka), Open Web Application Security Project and IEEE Student Section (Sri Lanka). In my free time, I travel, take photos, read and write articles and books.



Lieutenat (Information Technology) - Sri Lanka Navy

Currently, I work as a lieutenant in the Sri Lankan Navy, attached to the directorate of Information Technology. Here I am involved with Software development (Web Applications), Maintenace and upgrade of ongoing software systems, Server Management and Project management while performing necessary defence-related duties as military personnel.


Tutor - NSBM

I was a tutor at the Faculty of Computing of the National School of Business Management. There I had the opportunity to deliver tutorial sessions and guide lab practicals for undergraduate students from various Computing related degree programs from the first year to the final year.


Software Engineering Intern - 99x.io

I was a software engineering intern at 99x.io. There, I had the opportunity to learn about the latest web development technologies and improve my overall coding and software engineering skills. Also, I had the privilege to be a part of the winning team of the National Best Quality Software Awards 2017 under the category of Supply Chain Management.
